Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about Aurora? Here are some answers to some of the most frequent questions you may have.

Aurora is a B2B care management platform. It acts as a bridge between the member-facing Heylixir app and your care hub's staff workflows. It lets care coordinators manage member populations, automate proactive intervention through configurable triggers that open incident reports/cases, and export standardized Data Sharing Reports (DSR). Aurora's Path 1B is the health plan system for tracking member progress and interventions, and its Halo AI and Compass layer turns your organization and care hub data into actionable summaries and stats that help staff make proactive decisions
Standing up member monitoring traditionally means building custom tracking apps or manual outreach systems from scratch. Aurora provides an 'off-the-shelf' care-grade infrastructure — you don't need to build the tracking UI or the data standardization engine, you simply enroll members into the Heylixir ecosystem and receive synthesized, actionable data instantly
Yes. Aurora's care hub structure is built to scale from one hub to hundreds — each hub reuses the same configurable trigger rules, staff roles, and dashboards, so a health plan or insurer operating across regions doesn't need a separate build for every hub. Roles assigned at the organization level also carry down to its care hubs, so staff permissions don't have to be rebuilt hub by hub
Aurora standardizes raw member data into FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and HL7 compatible formats. Reports are available as structured JSON, CSV for database integration, or audit-ready PDFs for manual chart review
Not necessarily. Aurora is designed to feed and strengthen it. It captures the 'subjective gap' — daily mood, nuanced symptoms, and medication adherence — that standard care management systems often miss or capture poorly through retrospective check-ins, and turns it into automated triggers and incident reports/cases your care hub staff can act on, so your team can be proactive with an intervention instead of reacting after the fact
We use advanced biometric access, data encryption, and stringent access controls to protect your information. Additionally, we're introducing an Anonymous Profile Mode to further enhance member privacy. Access is role-based, with permissions scoped to your organization or a specific care hub, and staff actions are tracked in audit logs and activity histories
Yes. Halo AI and Compass are Aurora's AI layer — they derive actionable summaries and stats from your organization and care hub data so staff can make proactive decisions, such as spotting seasonal signals to help with staffing, reducing cost per member, and improving outcomes. Halo uses a deliberate mix of models: machine learning where every prediction can be explained by the factors behind it (for example, why a member is more likely to respond to an email than a call), and neural networks or LLMs only where they're the better fit, so LLMs aren't relied on where hallucination risk or unverifiable reasoning would matter. Aurora also provides staff activity analytics across a care hub
Yes. Aurora includes timezone-aware appointment booking, automated reminders ahead of each visit (24 hours, 6 hours, 1 hour, and 15 minutes), and video visits powered by the Amazon Chime SDK
Triggers are configurable rules that watch member wellness data. When a member's symptom or wellness trend matches a rule, Aurora opens an incident report/case automatically and alerts your care hub in real time. That lets staff be proactive: instead of waiting for the next appointment or a retrospective check-in, your team can start an intervention as soon as a flare-up or decline shows up, before it turns into a costly claim. Triggers also make that intervention consistent — the same rule applies to every member it covers, so no signal depends on someone happening to notice it. Each trigger moves through a clear lifecycle — Open, In Progress, Resolved, and Closed — and Aurora can also flag members who stop logging against their tracking routine
The report/case lands in your care hub's queue where it can be assigned to a staff member, and reassigned if needed, so every intervention has a clear owner. Staff can add notes, log proactive outreach follow-ups to the member, and escalate when a case needs it. If a report/case is reopened, a reason is required and it returns to the queue for an explicit assignment decision. Members and staff are notified by email when a note is added, and every change is kept in the report/case history
Aurora uses role-based access control with health-plan-specific roles such as Health Plan Administrator, Care Coordinator, and Claims / Billing Reviewer. Permissions can be granted at the organization level or for a single care hub, and roles given at the organization level carry down to its care hubs
Yes. Surveys can be tied to events such as a member starting or completing enrollment, or an incident report/case being closed, and can be targeted by criteria like age group, gender, or condition. Aurora tracks who was invited, sends reminders to members who haven't responded, and shows per-question insights such as the percentage of respondents who chose a given answer
Yes. From an incident report/case, staff can view a member's assigned medications alongside the intake the member has tracked in Heylixir, and add a medication or change its quantity or dosage. This makes it easier to intervene proactively when intake drifts from what was assigned. Changes are recorded with a reason, medications can be discontinued or reinstated, and members are notified by email when their medication changes
Privacy is our default. Member data is encrypted and remains inaccessible to your organization until the member explicitly triggers a Data Sharing Report (DSR) within their app. This action grants your organization a specific 'license to view,' shifting the agency — and a significant portion of the data custody liability — to the member
Yes. We use AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.2+ for data in transit. Our architecture is built to meet the stringent requirements of both US and EU health data regulations, and Aurora is built to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and GCP standards
Organizations have full control over their data footprint. You can download all raw datasets for internal archiving and use the 'Right to Erasure' protocol to purge member data from the Aurora dashboard, ensuring you don't hold unnecessary data long-term
While the core experience uses the Heylixir app (to benefit from our B2C-validated engagement rates), we offer integration options for organizations that require specific branding or custom modules for their program
Our pilot programs are designed for Health Plans, Insurers, and Outbreak Response Organizations looking to validate automated intervention and RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) workflows
